Dear Friends,
Greetings to you all this Easter!
One of the better known Easter sermons in our contemporary world is Tony Compolo's sermon "Its Friday, Sunday is a coming". It begins with the pain and suffering that Jesus must go through on Good Friday and at every step, the audience is reminded that even with the defeats that he experiences - Sunday is coming. The pain of Friday is followed with the greatness of the resurrection on Sunday.
There is no doubt that there is pain and suffering in our world today. In the last year, we have seen earthquakes, wars, murders, suffering and sickness but we can praise the Lord that on Easter we can all shout that Sunday is coming.
The Lord has risen!
Easter is here and we in the world can hope again. Hope because Jesus has conquered Death. Hope because our God is in control. Hope because our Lord is alive. The pain and suffering will ultimately come to an end.
This time of year at Olivet is a truly a wonderful time. The faculty, staff, and students extended throughout the globe are all a blessing to each other. It is my hope and prayer that all the Olivet family will have a blessed Easter as we remember the great sacrifice made by our Lord Jesus Christ.
