SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--Olivet College of Journalism (OCJ) is pleased to announce plans to launch a student newspaper.
Students from Editing JO310, Editorial Writing J0210, as well as other College volunteers, have begun interviewing Olivet University faculty and students to capture their unique stories.
"We hope this project will connect the school community, while highlighting student achievements," commented OCJ Director Katherine Phan.
He observed that countless stories of faith, courage, and endurance have contributed to the university's development.
"It's important for us to put these stories on paper and record the history that is unfolding everyday on our campus," Davis continued.
The project will reflect the rich diversity and talents of the student body. Senior students from the Olivet College of Art and Design will help design the paper, while Olivet Institute of Technology students will build its technical backend.
The project's College and alumni funding eventually will switch over to revenue from a planned advertising department “to allow this paper to become fully autonomous," said  Phan.
