JCM and OCAD students attended the Art Festival at Trinity Baptist Church in Livermore, CA. The annual event offers an opportunity for local Christian artist to gather for a weekend of arts, music, and worship. The theme was entitled “Let All Creation Praise The Lord.(Psalm148)”
The exhibition showcased various types of art from watercolor, oil paintings, stained glass, graphic design, and quilted works. The event began with a gallery viewing and followed with a piano worship concert led by pianist Rebecca Roberts. Guest speaker Dr. Gary McCoy, a Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary professor who teaches in the areas of music, spirituality and the arts, spiritual formation, and ministry assessment, gave a lecture on the art works displayed at the event.
One student shared, "It was very fresh and valuable experience. It broadens my view in art and music for worship. I wish to deepen my understanding on the arts to worship God in more diverse ways."
Olivet has participated in Trinity Baptist Church’s event each year to provide an experience in the arts for students and continuing its network with church ministries.
