Olivet University News - Annual Doctoral Colloquium Commences

Olivet University's Doctoral Colloquium commenced Monday with professors and students from over 13 countries coming together for it annual week-long session.  Selected faculty and students gave presentations of their dissertation papers including a series of evening lectures, which are open to the public.  The topics presented reach from systematic to practical theology and covered topics like "The importance of the initial question for the problem of theodicy."
Other faculty lectures included:
"Theology, Culture, and Gospel Communication" by Dr. Joseph Ray Tallman
"The Importance of the Initial Question for the Treatment of the Problem of Theodicy" by Dr. Karl – Heinz Kuhlmann
"Understanding and strategizing Christian Leadership Development for the Thai Buddhist Context"  by Dr. Chansamon Saiyasak
"Animal Rights & Wrongs" by Dr. Tony Sargent
An oral examination is also scheduled later this week where students receive feedback and critiques from professors. Participants held morning devotions and enjoyed catered meals from local restaurants.
