OCJ: The Study of Modern China in a Journalism Context Outline


INTRODUCTION
This course will allow students to examine sociological forces that are driving the current state of affairs in China today. It will cover a broad range of topics ranging from economy to foreign affairs. It also requires that students read current coverage of China from a variety of important Western and Chinese media.

OBJECTIVE
This course aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary Chinese society, so that students can sharpen the ways they think and write about the country as journalists.
