Summer is an exciting mission opportunity for the students at Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS), who collaborates with local churches to provide students a practical field experience.
The Olivet University students will primarily work on evangelism and discipleship activities, under the guidance of the local church pastor. Eligible students may receive internship credit for their work. They will work at churches in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or even travel to Seattle for the short-term mission.
"Having a practical experience is an important element in our curriculum," said Jonathan Park, the Program Director of OTCS. "We encourage students to study hard in the classroom, but also apply what they have learned in the classroom to the field."
Park added that the internship, or ministry practicum, is required in order for Olivet students to graduate with a BA in Theology or Master of Divinity degree.
"I went to Los Angeles last summer and had a great experience," shared Gloria, who is currently enrolled at Olivet’s Master of Divinity program. "It gave me a chance to apply what I learned in the classroom and put them into practice."
There are still few more opportunities available. All interested OTCS students should email OTCS Program Director Jonathan Park (jpark@olivetuniversity.edu) for more information.
